Top Vegan & Vegetarian Restaurants Found in Austin - Part 1
There are so many great vegan and vegetarian restaurants in Austin, TX; we had to split this blog into two parts. Austin is a great place for those practicing a no meat diet because of the many great places to go out for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Here's the first look at the many wonderful vegan and vegetarian restaurants throughout Austin.
Bouldin Creek Cafe - 1900 South 1st Street, Austin
This cafe may be the most popular spot for vegetarians and it's a good spot for vegans, too. Bouldin Creek Cafe is a unique spot offering a great vibe and plenty of wonderful vegetarian options. Most of the options on the menu can also be made vegan pretty easily.
The wholesome dishes offer something great for those practicing a no meat diet, but they also provide something delicious for non-vegetarians, as well. The cafe is also known for the many great beverages including locally roasted, organic and fair trade coffee.

The Beer Plant - 3110 Windsor Road, Austin
The first vegan gastropub in Austin, The Beer Plant offers incredible craft beers with a 100% plant-based menu. It's one of the best places to get a cocktail, class of wine, beer or just to go for a healthy meal. Many of the vegan dishes on the menu are decadent and pair perfectly with the craft beers offered here.
The Beer Plant is open from 11am to 12am every day of the week. The kitchen closes at 10pm and brunch is served from 11am to 3:30pm on Saturday and Sunday. Find out more about The Beer Plant on their website here.
Mother's Cafe - 4215 Duval Street, Austin
Since 1980, Mother's Cafe has been a staple for the vegan and vegetarian population of Austin, Texas. They offer a ton of menu options and really do have something for everybody.
A number of the ingredients used at Mother's Cafe are non-GMO and some are even organic. The cafe is open from 11:15am to 10pm, Monday through Friday and from 10am to 10pm on Saturday and Sunday. The Vegan Nom - 2324 East Cesar Chavez, Austin
The Vegan Nom is actually a food truck and offers all vegan tacos. They even offer a Vegan Queso on their menu and everything used in their tacos is plant-based. You can even get breakfast tacos from this truck all day long.
It's the first all vegan taco shop found in Austin. They are located in East Austin and open from 9am to 6pm, Tuesday through Saturday and from 9am to 4pm on Sunday.
