Golf Course Spotlight: Lago Vista Golf Courses

Lago Vista Golf Courses is a beautiful golf course in Texas Hill Country consisting of two challenging courses with incredible play and breathtaking views. The thirty-six holes of golf are found between the Lago Vista course and the Highland Lakes course.

The golf club is located on the peaceful peninsula on the north shore of Lake Travis and is considered one of the best kept secrets of Texas for the last thirty years. Whether you are a returning member or a guest, the experience at Lago Vista is intended to be casual, memorable and fun by the staff. Here is a look at what you can experience during your visit.

Lago Vista Course

The 18-hole championship course Lago Vista is a par 72 and 6,500 yard course full of challenging play. It opened as a 9-hole facility in 1971 to help with lot sales in the young neighborhoods of the area but after designer Leon Howard took over, the course was expanded to become 19 holes operated udner a private country club. It’s no longer private and now open to all golf guests that want to experience the amazing views, rolling fairways and the multitude of wildlife.

Highland Lakes Course

The Highland Lakes Course was acquired and improved by the City of Lago Vista after originally being designed by Leon and Charles Howard in the 70s. Since it was originally known as the World of Resorts Country Club, even with renovations the Highland Lakes Course is still today the more challenging course. Enjoy the wildlife and beautiful views during meandering fairways, bunkers and elevation changes.

Members of Lago Vista Golf Courses get unlimited golf, cart/trail and use of the practice range. You’ll have playing privileges at both courses. The practice facility features three tiers of natural grass teeing surface and a putting green.
