Austin Neighborhoods Served by Westwood High School

West High School is known as one of the highest rated schools in Austin. The neighborhoods served by this school are very desirable because of the rating of the school. In addition, many of the area technology jobs are found just minutes from the district borders. Here's a look at some of the most desirable neighborhoods served by Westwood High School.

Balcones Village

This neighborhood is served by the Spicewood Elementary and Canyon Vista Middle school before students arrive at Westwood High School. The average price for a home in this neighborhood is about $546K and the homes range from about 1,800 square feet to 6,800. Lots in Balcones Village are from about one-quarter acre to a full acre and the homes were built from 1969 to 2003.

Deerbrook Village

Those living in Deerbrook Village start at Anderson Mill Elementary and go on to Grisham Middle School before arriving at Westwood High School. This neighborhood provides homes with an average sales price of about $273K and sizes ranging from 1,500 to 2,800 square feet. The lots are all less than a half-acre and the homes were built between 1977 and 1980.

Laurel Canyon

A more affluent neighborhood served by Westwood High School, students start at Spicewood Elementary and go on to Canyon Vista Middle school in Laurel Canyon. Homes here have an average price of about $860K and they range from 3,200 to 11,300 square feet. Lots are all over a half-acre with some as large as two acres. The homes here were all built between 1997 and 2002.

Park at Spicewood Springs

This neighborhood is served by Laurel Mountain Elementary, Canyon Vista Middle and Westwood High Schools. The homes in Park at Spicewood Springs have an average price of about $470K with a size ranging from about 2,000 square feet to nearly 4,500 square feet. All of the lots are under a half-acre in size and the homes were built from 1983 to 1995.

Spicewood at Bullcreek

Served by Spicewood Elementary and Canyon Vista Middle Schools, Spicewood at Bullcreek is a part of the district served by Westwood High School. The homes have an average sales price of $688K with sizes ranging from about 2,600 square feet to 4,900 square feet. The lots range from about a quarter acre to more than a full acre and the homes were built from 1983 to 2003.

Tanglewood Estates

Served by both Spicewood and Laurel Mountain Elementary, Tanglewood Estates is also served by Canyon Vista Middle School before students head off to Westwood High School. The homes have an average price of $464K and the size ranges from about 2,000 square feet to about 3,500 square feet. Lots are all around a half-acre in size and the homes were built from 1986 to 1992.
